Listing your business and getting verified

Listing is free and takes a few minutes. A person on the Ujima team reviews every new listing before it goes live, usually within a day.

Create your listing

1. 1Create a free account, or sign in. Google sign-in works too.
2. 2Choose "For businesses" in the menu, then "Add your business".
3. 3Fill in the name, category, address, hours, a short story about the business, and a few photos. A real photo of the place or the people beats a designed graphic.
4. 4Submit. You get an email when the listing is approved, with your public link and the first three things to do next.

Already listed by someone else?

Some businesses were added by customers or by our team. Open the listing and choose "Claim this business". Tell us your role and how you are connected; once we confirm, the listing moves to your account.

Verification badges

Two badges tell customers the listing is real:

• Verified owner: confirm a code we email to the business address, or your website.
• Verified business: we check your business licence number against the state register. Five wrong attempts lock the check for a while, so copy the number carefully.

If a listing is declined

The email tells you exactly what to change, for example a stock photo as the cover. Fix it in the dashboard and we approve it straight away.
