Running a community on Ujima
Invite your people, know who is in the community, message them and fill your events.
A community (a chapter, an association, a network) is a page on Ujima with its own members, events and businesses. Organisers run it from the community console: open the account menu, choose your community under "Switch to", or go to your community page and choose Manage.
Invite people, not just businesses
- 1Open Invite people and paste names and emails, one per line. "Name <email>" lets us greet each person by name.
- 2Add a personal line if you like. Each person gets a designed invitation with your next event in it.
- 3Their link creates a free account (or signs them in) and adds them to the community in one tap.
- 4Waiting to join shows who has not accepted yet. Resend or withdraw any invitation from there.
Know who is in your community
Members lists everyone with how they joined, the events they came to and when you last saw them. Each person is marked:
- New: joined in the last 30 days and not at an event yet. A welcome note makes the first visit much more likely.
- Active: came to, or is going to, one of your events in the last 90 days.
- Quiet: no events in 90 days. A personal hello works better than a big announcement.
Add a private note to anyone (only organisers see it), make someone an organiser, or export the list as a spreadsheet. Activity comes from your own events, so check guests in at the door to keep it accurate.
Message members
Messages sends an email to everyone or to one group: new, active, quiet or organisers. Start from a template (welcome, we missed you, monthly update), edit it, and send. Replies go to your community contact email. Every message has a one-click way to stop them; people who opt out still get event invitations and tickets.
Fill your events
Events lists what is coming up with how many are going and invited. Pick a group and choose Invite: each member gets the normal event invitation with one-tap RSVP, and anyone already invited or going is skipped. Past events show how many said going and how many came.
The overview
Overview shows members, growth by month, how people found you and your show-up rate, plus a short "What would help right now" list and the people worth saying hello to.
